It comes after Conversations with Friends premiered on May 15 and viewers were left hot under the collar after watching Joe’s steamy love scenes in the BBC series.

The actor stars alongside Jemima as married couple Nick and Melissa who become involved with a pair of students who were once also an item, in an adaptation of Sally Rooney’s debut novel.

Joe is involved in a number of sex scenes with his co-star Alison, who plays Irish university student Frances.

After watching the steamy scenes, several viewers took to social media to proclaim they understand why Taylor is in love with Joe.

One viewer wrote: ‘Every song Taylor Swift wrote about Joe Alwyn makes sense.’

Another said: ‘ok google configurar mi dispositivo I get the Joe Alwyn thing now. Good for him and Taylor,’ while one added: ‘Taylor, girl I get it.’

Some fans didn’t hold back with their opinions of the show, with one writing: ‘Is it just me or is Conversations With Friends just a soft core porno between Joe and Alison?’

While some viewers were left swooning, others said Joe’s casting as Nick Conway in Conversations With Friends left them confused.

After the series was released for streaming by the BBC and on Hulu this weekend, viewers questioned whether Joe was right for the role, with the book’s character being older.
